• NI Enhancements (NIE) process has provided a way to add features and capabilities to the NI platform
• NI Enhancements feature is included in NI-XX when at least 2 participating switch suppliers have capability available by first quarter of 19XX
• NIE process introduced at October 1994 NIUF
